Any plaster pool experts experienced with metal staining?

I wasn't sure where / whether to post this. I've already contacted the National Plasterer's Council so we'll see what response I get. I am preparing to do some testing and need to gather info to help me make a plan. I'd rather communicate via private messages instead of posting all the details here due to potential confidentiality issues. So if anyone here has extensive knowledge about plaster pool finishes and metal staining, I'd be grateful to hear from you.

PM user onBalance, he's an actual plasterer and has extensive knowledge of plaster chemistry, application methods and trouble shooting. He also has extensive knowledge of pools and has had a lot of interactions within the technical community of the NPC.
