This may seem like an odd question but genuinely curious if there are any in ground through wall skimmers that just seem to be better than most. I have an old Hayward one with a weird basket design that has a sleeve that slips over a port of some sort. Drives me nuts because I can only get one type of basket for it and the handle always breaks, and I would love to get one with a weir gate. Other than size and vinyl wall compatibility, any thing else to consider or are they all pretty much the same? I have pavers that I can replace or cut if I need to change shape so not too worried about that. Thanks in advance!
Any in ground through wall skimmers "best"?

My widemouth Hayward skimmers are no joke. They look normal in the wall, but this pic when I opened the box puts it into better perspective.
The parts are all readily available being a flagship model.
My older model was more rectangular but they've since went with a square door and a wider throat. I don't see any difference in ability but in theory, the smaller door has the same flow over a smaller area making more pull.
