another ladder ?

old steps/ladder broke, realized it is cheaper to buy a new one than pay craigslist prices. however, as I shop I keep seeing "pool step mats". These seem like a good idea to save the liner, but also seem like a great place for algae to hide.

what do you all think?

That yes, you're right. It can be a good place for algae to hide.

But knowing that, when you brush you'll know to brush down there and make sure your chlorinated water gets all around there, right?
