Hey all!
Recently discovered this community after many late-night forays into pool and spa maintenance and chemicals, and pleased to say you all have been very helpful. Over the last year or so I've been doing a deep dive into the nitty-gritty details of water chemistry, so I feel like I've gained somewhat of a decent understanding, though there's always more questions for those with more knowledge and experience than me!
I have a bit of a unique situation as I'm only around my hot tub/spa roughly 4-5 months out of the year, and for the most part, I'm the only one who uses it. During a large chunk of the year, I'm off at college and the hot tub stays at home in Seattle where I grew up. Nobody else in the family has an interest in its maintenance besides throwing some enhanced shock in on a whim, so I decided last year I'd jump into the deep end so to speak, and take care of it properly. Call it a bit of a summer/winter break hobby while I pass the time until I get back to classes and friends.
