Am I dealing with POP (Pool Owner Patience) at this point?

Update: I decided to do a deep clean of my filter again, and afterwards I measured the space from the top of the sand to the top of the pipe and it’s was 12.5”. I added 50# of sand, backwashed, rinsed and then added DE (again) and now the pool is not 100% crystal clear, but I can see the bottom in the deep end. Thanks for this site and all the helpful info.

Exactly…..you reprogram the pump to reduce the prime rpm or quickly reduce the rpm so as not to blow sand out of the filter.

On a pentair start the pump normally. When priming mode starts use the +/- buttons to change the priming speed. If you set the priming rpm below 1700 rpm during the priming timer, priming mode will be turned off and it will default to speed 1 at startup.
