Alot of dirt in pool

I had new grass installed in my backyard and now tons of dirt has settled on the bottom of my pool. I have a robot but it's too much for it to pick up. I wanted to Invest into a riptide or hammer head but I dont know if they will get the fine dirt up. I current have a hole in my de grids and have new ones on the way. How can I remove this dirt from the bottom. Oh by the way I also have a small external pump that I can plug in but its hard to prime.
 
I have a dolphin robot cleaner but is so much dirt on the bottom the robot stops moving after 5 minutes because the canister is full so I'm looking for some alternative sources on cleaning like using an external pump or going with a hammer head cleaner with a mesh bag
