Hello, looking to close tomorrow and my total alkalinity is 88, ph 7.8,. Pool company recommends bringing alkalinity into the 150-175 level for closing. They tell me that have alkalinity too low can lead to wrinkles in the liner. Please advise. Also, Calcium Hardness is 100 which is a bit low. Is this that important to address on a vinyl liner pool? Thanks for your help.

Vinyl pools require no calcium. The TA is fine at your 80 - 90 range, and certainly doesn't need to be increased to the numbers they are recommending. The cold water will cause the pH to rise enough as it is without help from an elevated TA.
