Alkalinity and CYA

I've been using my new TF-Pro test kit for about a month and really like it. One question about the alkalinity reading.
Pool math says the alkalinity target (I have vinyl) is 50-90, with 60-80 recommended. I also read on TFP that you need to adjust Alkalinity down by about 1/3 of the CYA. So when the TF-Pro gives me a reading of 80 for alkalinity, have they adjusted for the CYA factor? Is it really 80 or actually with my CYA of 50 closer to 64? Thanks.

I also read on TFP that you need to adjust Alkalinity down by about 1/3 of the CYA.
Can you point out where that is stated?

No need to adjust the TA. TA is TA. The app makes any adjustments necessary for calculated values.

Actually it was from Taylor Technologies website:

False-high reading due to cyanuric acid
Cyanuric acid (CYA) titrates as total alkalinity when CYA is greater than 30 ppm. Adjust for this by subtracting 1/3 of your CYA reading from your total alkalinity reading to get the correct alkalinity value.

Also, I will admit I am confused as to the relationship if any between Taylor Technologies and TFP. And I purchased the TF-Pro at TFtestkits.net which I thought was the same as Taylor but now not sure.
