Are these spots algae or stains? I thought they were stains, but I think I am getting more of them. I don’t remember there being this many when we moved into the house about a month and a half ago. However, I have been SLAMing my pool for the past few days because of what I believe was black algae, which I think I have gotten rid of at this point.

Can you scrape off a sample? If so, put it on a white piece of paper. If smudges green to the paper you have black algae. If not, you're contending with something else.
How are you testing during your SLAM?

@frogabog i did an OCLT which showed no loss of chlorine from last night and 0.5 CC or less. I’ve been brushing. I brushed the spots specifically with a stainless steel brush head. Spots are still there. I’m going to the store right now to buy some Vitamin C tablets to test if they are iron stains. I will report back.
