Air pockets in pool pump

I just noticed if there is movement in the water such as jumping in the pool the pump gets air. Will a weir door fix this?

Yes, the weir door would help with that too.

Just went out to the pool this morning and noticed the pool pump lost it’s prime after 4 days. Water level is still good. I was just trying for 30 mins to prime the pump and it won’t prime. Any ideas?

Have you replaced the weir yet? Did you check the skimmer for a vortex?

havent replaced yet weir door arrives tomorrow.

You can try putting a large rock in the bottom of the skimmer basket to help break up the vortex if there still is one.

Got the weir door in today and installed. Doesn’t see to help with air sucking in through the skimmer. Calm water and the pump basket looked fine then had the kids jumping in the pool today and noticed a lot of turbulence and air in the pool pump basket. Is it possible that my pump is too strong? It’s on 1 hp.

Yes and only suction from the skimmer
