Air in filter system

Hi everyone,

I need some help. I have an Intex 15x48 prism frame pool. This year I upgraded the filter pump to a Sand filter and Saltwater system. When I was setting this up I noticed as I loosened the screw on top of the skimmer to release air, it sounds like a plane taking off. Usually after a few seconds water will start coming out the top and then I re tighten the screw, but no water ever comes out just seems like alot of air. I also noticed that my Intex skimmer that I have hooked to the side is no longer sucking things into the basket. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Hi, welcome to TFP! Make sure the hoses are secure and do not leak, and make sure the water level is high enough. You can open the top of the sand filter and fill it up with a hose, then close it and turn on the pump.
