If I tighten more it falls down. Right now I can hear air getting into it. How do I keep it on. Fear it's going to plop off and pool will drain. HELP!!

You could take the hose off and clean the mating nozzle on the fitting and the inside of the hose with some PVC cleaner. Just wipe a little on there and let it dry. That will take the glaze off the parts and should let the parts 'grip' better.
