Folks...Until I found this site a few weeks ago I never knew aeration affected PH level...What kind of change will I see if I run the overflow say for 4 hours a day for a week?...I know this is a guess..but having never known this and my wife likes to run it for the waterfall sound...I'm curious as to it making a difference in a day..or week...or are we talking a month's worth of running it to make a noticeable change?

Thanks...

Ed

When I ran the spa full volume and turned on the blower to intentionally raise pH fast as part of the process to lower TA, I could raise it .4 in four hours. Normally, I keep the spa spillover to the narrow channel and maybe an inch deep. That's enough flow to flush the spa and it still makes plenty of noise.

jblizzle is right. Too many variables. I run my pump at 1250 rpm for more than 12 hours a day to have the spa spillover effect. Some weeks my PH creeps up and needs adjustment and some weeks it doesn't.

Thanks...at least that gives me an idea..I will mess with it going forward but it sounds like it isn't much...Richard what do you mean by narrow channel?...this terminology is new to me...

Running full bore, the water overflows the whole width of the dividing wall. At lower flows, it sticks to that notch/channel in the center.
