Advice on in ground pool ladder needed

If you were to add any metal type egress, you will need to tie it into the bonding grid with a suitable bonding wire.

Post a few pictures of your pool and surrounding area.
Someone may have an idea after they see what you're working with.

Just for the record -when new concrete is poured to replace an old pool deck, do the concrete people usually leave holes where the existing ladder is or do they cover it and expect you to hire a pool contractor to fix it? We are so confused and distraught over our situation that we are just curious what the pool people say on this. We never did this before- our concrete guy has apparently done it like this many of times. All of the pool companies we called said they will not drill and install a ladder for us as they didn't put in the pool. Our concrete guy says they do this all the time. We had this work done over a month ago and cant use our pool. It stinks.

So upsetting and disappointing to spend all this money on a new concrete pool deck and not be able to use the pool.

Good idea- I can take a few pictures tomorrow in the morning to post. It was suggested by one pool guy that we order a solid plastic ladder so that we dont have to deal with bonding and grounding issues as the ladder we have is stainless steel.

I would think the ladder anchors would have been installed by someone PRIOR to the concrete being poured. Not sure which 'someone' that should have been.
This would have made bonding the anchors/ladder a whole lot easier.

Was the ladder the only way into and out of the pool before?

Quick question- when laying old concrete against new concrete, is there piping or something (not sure what its called) that goes between them where they meet? We had it before on our old pool deck- it looked like a fat shoe lace but not sure what its called. Does anyone know? Thanks

No. Its utterly lazy and taking no pride in their work. There's a special place, in *a certain place*, for contractors that do wrong by the customer like this.

Why can't you climb out of the pool ? If you're able enough to use the ladder, you should be able to hop the wall. It might not be graceful, but it'd work. :ROFLMAO:

Also, what kind of pool ? Maybe toss a bench of some sort in there to help hop the wall in the meantime.

I know we are so sad and disappointed. After spending 6500.00 to have broken concrete replaced around this old pool that was here when we bought the house a few years ago. It was the only way to get in and out of the pool- just had one ladder, now we have none.
