Advice and Questions for a Suction Pool Cleaner

My pool is 24’3” ft X 39 ft and I want to get a suction pool cleaner for it. I previously plugged one in through the skimmer, though I just added a new dedicated vacuum port during a remodel in the shallow end of the pool. My pool has steps, and an 8ft long Baja that is obviously elevated from the rest of the pool. There is also a mini Baja in the deep end. I’d like to get a unit that does its best climbing these.

I’m looking at these two Hayward models:

Both specify they are rated for pools up to 20 x 40 ft.

1. Which of the two units should I consider getting?

2. Is it an issue to just get a longer extension line so that the vacuum can cover more of an area?

3. The pool was just plastered. How long should I wait before putting one in my pool?

Thanks in advance!!!

Did you look into a robot instead for the energy savings as well as improved performance?

I dont believe either of those climb, but I could be mistaken? Robots can climb up the walls to brush the water line.

Both those cleaners you linked look the same to me.

I had been told previously that the robots were difficult to work with (you have to take them out of the pool and put them back in when you want to use them, and you have to take them out to clean and take the debris out of them?) I was also told the suction vacuum cleaners performed almost as well as robots? No idea if that is close to being accurate?

What do you mean by "energy savings" with a robot vs. a suction based pool cleaner?

Thanks

A suction cleaner requires an entire separate pump to run. That's a lot of cost in energy and the purchase of the pump.
A robot uses a GCFI outlet. And they work far better than those outdated pressure or suction cleaners. Mine cost $750.

i leave my robot in for a week, or even two. Most of the time I don't get a lot of debris. We just pull it out to swim, or leave it in pulled down to the deep end if we're just hanging out,

This is mine and many others here have this, or this that works via wifi. www.maytronicsus.com/product/residential/active-20/

The suction cleaner I am using is working off of my main pump, I guess it makes the pump work harder and uses more energy that way, though it is not a separate pump.

I do like the idea of the robot, though I am not sure I like leaving it plugged into a cable. I have kids running outside around the pool all the time.
