Adding Water to Pool While Closed

We had a no-drain close professionally done by our local pool company last fall. Our pool seems to have lost some water over winter from the weight of the ice/snow on our safety cover displacing some water. Right now the water is right at the bottom edge of the skimmer, so essentially the spots where our skimmer baskets go are void of water. I am not sure if the skimmer “holes” were empty of water when they closed our pool in September and added the Gizmos.

We’d like to open our cover and start cleaning our leaves, but need the water level at about 1/2 way up the skimmer to operate our auto cover safely. Our pool is scheduled for opening April 29th. Should it be fine to add water to this level prior to opening? Will it have any effect on the Gizmos that are in place in the skimmers or cause any problems when the pool guys come open our pool at the end of the month?

Sorry for what may be a really naive question. We bought the home in September and only had the pool open for 2 weeks after we moved in so we are essentially pool newbies.

I would suggest to drain all the water on top of the auto cover first, then you can add water safely to proper levels. Do not turn any of your equipment on until you properly open the pool.
