Adding salt

Hi all

Mid season, lots of rain, salt concentration has dropped to 2700 ppm. Going to add another bag of salt to bump it up. Do I need to turn the hayward SWG off for 24 hrs after I add the salt?

No... I would pour the salt in and then sweep it around with the pole and brush to help it dissolve. You won't see the results right away, since it takes a little time to register on the Hayward equipment. You should also verify your results with the Taylor drop test.

You do not want High concentrated salt water to go through your cell while it is turned on. So it is safest to turn off the swg for a day after adding the salt.

You can likely get by by adding the salt far away from your suction line so that it is dissolved and mostly mixed before being sucked through the equipment.
