I was wondering if I could use my chlorine feeder to add CYA instead of hanging a sock in front of a return? Anyone done this? Will the CYA damage the feeder? Should I still put the CYA in a sock so the granules don't clog the feeder tube?
Oh lordie no.... please don't. CYA can get kind of gummy as it dissolves. You don't need to be mixing chemicals within that tube.
How about slipping the sock on to the end of a broom stick and weight the stick down so it hangs free in the water? Or slip it in to the skimmer (with pump on till gone) to dissolve?
Haha, yeah I figured it was probably a bad idea which is why I wanted to ask here first. I am hanging it from the skimmer pole but putting the sock in the skimmer basket sounds easier. Thanks for the advice!
