I have an above ground pool that's a little cloudy, so I wanted to follow the recommendations and add a little fiber to the sand filter. However, all the instructions say to add to skimmer, which, of course, I don't have since it is above ground. Can I drop it near the "intakes" for the pump in the pool and have the pump suck it into the filter? Do I put it in the basket filter that is attached to the pump? Or do I have to disassemble the sand filter and put the fiber on top of the sand?

Hi, welcome to TFP! It would be difficult to add DE or cellulose fiber to an Intex style pool without a skimmer. I think your best bet would be to open up the pump pot and put a cup of cellulose fiber mixed with water in the pot. In order to do this you will need to block off the intake and return to the pool and scoup a little water out of the pump pot. Then put in the fiber, close the pump pot and unblock the intake and return and turn on the pump. Keep an eye on the filter pressure as you will likely need to backwash the filter again in a week or so.
