I am waiting for spring for completion of my pool. I have a question about the actual size of a freeform pool. I originally planned on a 16X36 freeform pool, but after it was marked out, I decided to go with 18X36 pool, at an increase of 2300.00. No one came out and re marked the dimensions, and fortunately I was there 2 weeks later when the excavator arrived and showed him the updated contract. He moved a few of the flags and stared digging. After the Gunite was done and the coping and concrete was done, I took some measurements. The highest measurement I get is 17'3'' in the shallow end and the highest in the deep end is 15'4". When I mentioned this to the project manager, he said that the size is correct because it is a freeform pool. He even said that if I wanted 18" width I should have went with a rectangular pool. I used a ruler and checked the pool layout detail drawing It says drawing scaled at 1/8"
My measurements show the shallow end at 18' and deep end at 16'. I think what I actually have is a 17'X36' pool. I am planning on requesting a 1100.00 reduction to my final payment. If anyone has a 18X36 freeform pool, please let me know what the actual measurements are.
