Do you mean the Active 30 by Maytronics (Dolphin)?? If so, absolutely they work on sloped pools! 
I've got the same device but labeled by Pentair.... Warrior. It climbs walls, goes into the deep end, does a couple of stairs once in a while (as long as bot intake is under the water).
