"Acid Magic" as an alternative for Muriatic Acid

Looking at Magic Acid "advanced formula", I see a tiny footnote on the front label saying "Magic Acid should not be used to aid or effect any pool disinfectant product or other water modifier". SDS says it contains Lactic Acid (undisclosed amount).
 
There's plenty of info about it if you search above. It looks like the formula changed since a while ago. Just recently the MSDS said MA and Lactic acid when it used to list other stuff.

By me it's $17 at the same Ace Hardware selling MA for $10, so I've never used it, but many do.
