Absentmindedly tossed used FAS-DPD (poison) test in pool.

With a flick of the wrist I emptied my used chlorine test reagents in the pool. So, I google DPD (N,N-Diethylparaphenylenediamine) and it's not pretty stuff. Anyone have info on how bad this is. Do I need to completely empty the pool?

DPD comprises only about 1-2% of the total powder weight (it’s mostly non-toxic pH buffers and metal sequestrants). So, as other’s say, the scale of the dilution is important here -

2 scoops of powder is roughly 100mg
13,000 gal of water weighs 49,178,484,755 mg

Assuming 2% of the weight is dpd -

2/49,178,484,755 = 40 ppt (40 parts per trillion)

That makes more sense; If it's only 1%. Because if you read about the chemical it's highly toxic to the point where if you accidentally touch it you are taken to the hospital. Obviously that isn't the case for the stuff we are using. Like most things i guess concentration means allot. I'm sure there are people who toss it in their pool every time, but they probably do allot of things that would make me gasp and cringe. lol.
