Apologies in advance if posting this in the wrong subject area. In our SW Florida pool we have what appears to be mold growing in every corner, above the waterline. The pool is two years old.

Any ideas on how to remove and/or treat? Assume we should try to minimize having any of it fall into the water; not sure if that will hurt anything (our water is currently balanced properly). I was thinking about filling a pump sprayer with chlorine and giving it a good spray? Once removed is there anything we ought to be doing to prevent it from returning, aside from perhaps regular spraying with chlorine and better/more frequent brushing?

Interestingly, we have a pool/spa setup, with the spa about 18 inches higher than the pool with a spillover into the pool. All of the corners of the spa are clear (no mold, or whatever this is); it is only present at the corners of the pool.

Thanks.

Chlorine in a spray bottle seems like a good start, plus the scraping of the mold to get rid of it. Since you use LC to sanitize, maybe a monthly regime of the spraying LC to keep it away. I would lay a plastic bag under the mold with a square edge that matches the pool corner to catch any mold that drops.

It seems that the mold is only growing in the shade. Not sure if the spa corners don't have as much shade since it is higher.
