AA treatment questions

After a disastrous "pool guy" nearly destroyed our pool and we brought it back from being a bio hazard (well maybe not that bad...lol), I've been trying to get the brown stains off. And they're a lot better but still some left. Used Stain Free last year and the top steps were very white, 3rd steps lighter but still stained...but rest of pool left with a "bathtub ring" around the bottom. This Fall, thinking abt doing the AA treatment as described here...
Questions:
Does the AA have to be vacuumed out? I don't see that as a step anywhere. The Stain Free had to be vacuumed out for days it seemed cause if you went to fast, it had to settle back out. And I hate vacuuming with a passion. My robot is my friend! HA
I have some Metal Magic but read that when I add chlorine, it can drop the metals back out???
I've no idea why there's iron stains in the pool...at least most are iron that I can tell...just trying to clean it up.

You must use a sequestrant after doing the AA treatment if you’re not going to immediately exchange the iron laden water for iron free water or the stains will return.
Metal magic is a good one to use as it is HEDP based as we recommend.
Raising fc too quickly can cause the stains to return whether you use Metal magic or not.
After following the AA guide as prescribed you should be able to maintain target fc levels going forward without issue. There are instructions not to slam/shock the pool for 2 weeks after Aa treatment as well as at least 1 week on the MM bottle.
The sequestrant is something you will need to continue to use in maintenance doses perpetually to remain stain free unless you remove the iron permanently by water exchange.
