A quiet pump for my above ground pool

I currently have a 30 foot round above ground pool. It was here when we bought this house.
The current pump is an eco Kleer PK2200-6P and when turned on high speed it sounds like shriek's from horror films.

Its hard to enjoy my pool moments of zen with this loud pump screaming away.

I was considering spending some $$ on a new pump this year.

What two speed above ground pumps that are SUPER quiet, do you fine folks recommend?

I like the Calimar 1.5 HP.

Thanks! ALL the reviews are very favorable. When i did a search on this unit it redirected me to another thread here where someone suggested getting the 3 hp which would allow the user to run it at slower speeds, saving on the electric bill and moving the same amount of water. Wonder if that would be wise to do or just stick with the 1.5 that you suggested?

Prices are in the range i was hoping to spend as well!

On the flagship pumps it may take its lifespan to recover the upgrade cost, but for this pump it's $79 (?) and although it's overkill of overkill on an above ground, the 3HP moves the same water at a lower RPM for a (slight) energy savings and even quieter operation. Its kinda silly not to overkill the snot out of it. Lol.

If his price is fair then i will probably get the Calimars 3hp.
Apologies that this keeps getting spendier, but if you ever wanted any other powered devices out there, nows the time. At a minimum, an accessory outlet will come in handy, possibly not even for the pool. I'd use it for tools and such to not have to run a cord back to the house when working in the yard.

Okay, i have two questions for you.

1. Does the size of my sand filter matter when it comes to this pump? (or the 3hp)

2. See picture, my current pump has these holes where i put these plastic anchors to hold it down. How did you mount yours? Drill new holes?

That's the beauty of the VS pump. You dial it down as slow as you need. The lower you need it, the more energy savings. Though, now that you point it out, the filter is pretty small. Lol.

My pvc plumbing holds it in place. With flex plumbing or vibrations with PVC, I'd use anchor bolts into the concrete / pavers. You can cut that excess plastic so long as you leave the base under the filter intact

This is ALL good to know. I ordered the 3HP yesterday. Hope to have it this week.

My electrician was asking me if it requires a "Neutral". Do you know if it requires a Neutral?

Ok I had a minute but couldnt find the 3HP manual. The 1.5 only has 2 lugs so no neutral. I'm moderately certain the bigger pump would be the same. Lol.
