A&A Leaf Canister Gaining Air

My A&A Manufacturing leaf canister slowly gets air in the top and that sends some air into the Pentair pump basket as well. When I backwash, all air is pushed out and there is not one bubble. I put the pool on filter, and over the course of a few days there is quite a bit of air and the pressure really drops.

Do you have any ideas I can test?

Thank you!

How old is your LeafVac? Show us a picture.
I have one of the original designs - still going strong after 24 years. I've had to replace the basket and O-ring.

Remove the lid
Take out the O-ring
Clean the O-ring, lid mating surface and canister mating surface
Lube O-ring, reinstall O-ring and put the lid back on.

Do not over-tighten the lid
If you are still having an issue, a new O-ring might help.

That's the current model.

Have a look at this Amazon listing and view the pics to see where all the parts/pieces go.

Two other possibilities - there is a union on the side (at shown in your pic) and a union on the bottom. Both of those have O-rings as well. Might be time to check those and also the tightness of the unions.
Also - inspect the canister for any cracks.

Thanks for the reply. I will check it out.

The LeafVac is not pressurized. It's on the suction side of the pump.
With the pump on, no air or water will leak from the LeafVac - but air can get sucked in thru it.
