Try adding a gallon (are you still using 12.5%) and retest 30 minutes later.
You should post exactly how you are testing for chlorine so we can be 100% certain you're doing it correctly.

I want to thank everyone who has helped me. I had to stop my SLAMing early tonight because my kids took us out for a surprise, early father's day dinner, then we came home to a thunderstorm. But my last reading had the FC at 13, so it seems to be working.
I'm going to start again early tomorrow. I'm so excited...we can see the bottom of the pool clearly!

Good job! Don't let up. Make sure you keep your FC at SLAM level until you pass all 3 tests to stop the SLAM.
I see you tested FC at 13. Does that mean you received your FAS/DPD chlorine test?
You'll need it in order to do an OCLT which is one of the 3 things you have to pass to know it's ok to end your SLAM.

You are SO close! It may take a few nights to pass the OCLT but it will be worth it so you do not have to ever do this again!
