How much do you figure you spend on electric to run your pump per day / month? Do you run your pump day or night? Also
how many hours a day do you run the pump?
Thanks
Amps X voltage divided by 1000. That sum X your cost per kilowatt hour. That sum is the cost, in dollars and cents, to run your pump per hour. Multiply that sum X the number of hours you run your pump. This is the daily cost. Daily cost X 30 will compute your monthly cost.
Example:
11 amps X 110v = 1210/1000 = 1.21 X .13 per kilowatt hour = $0.15 to run the pump for one hour X 8 hours = $1.20 is the cost to run the pump for 8 hours.
$1.20 X 30 approx days in a month = $36 is the cost to run the pump per month.
Wow - my kwh price is .11272. So 15 X 115/1000 = 1.725*.11272 = .19 per hour * 24 hours = 4.7 per day. I run 24 hours a day, for $139 per month. Without the formula, I'd have taken a guess that the pump costs around $150 per month. I didn't realize how variable electric rates are in different regions.
