Hello, I'm new to this site. Great site by the way!
Ok for weather purposes Im from Modesto, CA.
My pool was a green swamp over Winter/Spring. My pool needs to be replastered. Pool company came out and said since no cracks Im ok to use for a couple seasons.
Pool is now blueish, Yesterday when I brushed sides it is no longer green algae, it is now sandy whiteish cloudy dust.
I followed pool math on here and my hubby poured in bleach which made a difference, we were going through many bags of shock and we were not getting anywhere. Today I brushed sides and bottom that I could reach and was less sandy cloudy dust, but still significant. Hubby added 1 1/2 128oz jugs of pool chlorine. I've been using a water hose connected to leaf catcher to scoop out tons of leaves, gritty debris, and palm tree seeds. Has made a difference. I can now start to see second step but very faintly still cloudy.
We noticed a leak on booster pump and since from Leslie's we disconnected and they are repairing, apparently propeller is warped due to our hose pinching and not enough water getting through. Wont be fixed until Tuesday.
My hubby has been cleaning filters but PSI is not going down anymore showing 30 was going down to 18 or 20 not anymore. We have been dumping chems for 5 weeks has been cloudy for 3 weeks no sign of green algae since yesterday (when I brushed bottom I saw a tinge of green) today none just sandy cloudy dust. Since my CYA went from 50 to 0 I know from reading that I need borax and maybe soda ash? Anyhow if anyone can let me know how to conquer this cloudy pool and help me get it swim ready I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your time.
