We have an old starbright de 50 filter and a dynamo 2 speed 1.5 hp pump. The motor on the pump died and we took it to the pool store for replacement. They first told us we had to replace with the exact motor which is not made anymore. Then they said we could buy a whole new pump, but it didn't have to be matching anymore. My husband is very handy and can install himself. What do we need to buy? I should also add, we are in the process of buying a pool heater to add in the system.
