Happy 2015 Swimming Season all! Over the winter I picked up what I thought was a couple of bottles of salt test strips that I have now discovered was 1 salt kit and 1 of strips that test several of the chemicals. I thought I would show you what the difference in results are. I always use the TFTest kit, but thought it would be interesting to get "real live" results between the 2...
Today's #'s..
pH - 7.8 (this was the only test between the 2 that gave the same result)
FC - 11.5 (the strip told me I was fine at 3!)
CC - .05 (not even a test for that...)
TC - 12 (again, I was fine at 3 according to the strip!)
T/A - 90 (strip said 40)
CYA - 70 (strip said 0!)
Salt - 3270
Borates - 30
Awesome numbers for the second week of testing! And, THAT boys and girls is why you DO NOT USE the strips! Had I just been going by their #'s, I would be dumping all kinds of unnecessary chemicals into my pool!
So, excuse me now while I go turn down my SWG!
