Another update:
I ended up paying for a new multiport and they refunded all other monies paid. I am more than happy with my new valve. It works great and I am sure I would have spent more money than that to keep replacing things on the old one. Who knows how the old one was treated. Now I know how my valve should feel, I have a shiny new sight glass and I see a difference in pressure, water movment, etc.
I left them a very positive yelp review.
