So we properly winterized the pool, have plastic bottles and everything in the skimmer basket to avoid cracking problems, and we have a Mesh Pool cover. Drained the pool to about 4-5 inches below the skimmer line before the winter hit
However, after having a very mild winter, we've been socked the last 2 weeks with massive snows, and more on the way. Before the deep freeze, the water level had come up to skimmer level and is now sitting aroudn the normal summer level. I meant to get out there to take some water out, but we were away for a week and while away the deep freeze came, everything froze over, and then the snow. So With a completely frozen pool, covered in ice/snow, and more snow on the way, i'm now worried about water levels whenever this all melts. The storm on its way sunday into monday is forecasting something like 3" of liquid between snow and rain at the end.
Whats your suggestions? Just deal with the snow, wait for a warmup and then pump as everything melts? Or attempt to puncture a portion of the ice, and try to empty with a submersible pump?
