Winterizing a heater???

So we had a heater installed a couple of months ago. Last year, I closed the pool myself. It wasn't too bad. But now I have the added complexity of the heater. I know I need to drain it by removing a drain plug. And I should blow it out (how? not sure).

What do you need to do to make sure the heater is ready for next spring?

Drain it out but also try to isolate only the heater as much as you can with valving and blow it out with air just like the rest of your equipment.
