Chlorine drops out on auto but holds on %

Adding 8lbs of cal-hypo would have raised your FC by 33 ppm and you said that 24 hours after that the FC was 17 ppm. Then they added another 5 lbs and 24 hours after that it's 16 or 20 (depending on which you believe). You also said that the CYA is very low, let's call it 10 ppm. If that's the case then the sun is going to eat the FC very quickly, however you said that the swcg has been on 90% the whole time.

Exactly which Taylor CYA test are you using?

Now none of this explains why the swcg will maintain the FC on percentage and not on auto. What is the orp reading when the FC is 3 ppm and the CYA is where it is now (~10ppm)?

It sounds like a programming issue with the automation system.
