Should I close my pool myself

This is the first year of me trying to maintain my pool. Still learning but now it's time to close it for the year and the pool service guy that is delivering my winter cover wants to close my pool for $380. I want to save money and try and do it myself I'm just afraid I'll mess something up and not properly close. Can anyone provide some insight as to which path I should take? Thanks
