I have been dealing with my salt water chlorine generator problems since last season. It didn't seem to be generating enough chlorine all season long. I originally had a small algae problem and had to shock my pool to get rid of it. All of my chemicals seem perfect right now and the chlorine is still not producing so after looking on the forum, I followed advice from another subject and took water directly from the cell itself and there is no chlorine there either!! I have a brand new AquaPure 1400 which we just bought the end of last swim season because we thought that one was not working properly. Now I know something else is wrong. Does anybody have any ideas what else to check?

Remove your cell and visually check for calcium scale on the blades. Also have your water tested for salinity and stabilizer levels.

Yes, we removed both cells and checked for scaling. One had slight signs of deposit so we acid washed it, but the other one was totally clean. We put the clean one back in and checked for chlorine while it was running and got a 0 reading. CYA is about 55.
