Blasted Intex and their two size handles, anyone worked this out?

So this weekend I noticed a couple spots that need a bit of a scrub in the pool where algae once had started to take hold so I figured I need to brush it down, time to buy a brush. While I was at sporting goods store I saw an Intex 10" brush, and a 'pool maintenance kit' with a large curved brush. The large kit came with a vacuum head but no hose and they had none in stock, so I grabbed the 10" and away I went. Then today I go to try it on and find out that its 1 1/16" and my pole is 1 3/16". The 'vacuum' head that came with my pole has an adapter sleeve to fit the pole but that sleeve wont slide all the way down brush.

Has anyone made a quick and dirty adapter for something like this, if so what did you use.?
