Hey guys. I need a bit of help. I have a pro series metal frame 16x48 AG.
I used to have crystal clear water, however, we had a couple of weeks of pouring rain that prevented me from maintaining my pool & ended up getting a green pool.
I shocked it yesterday with 2 bags of aqua chem shock xtra blue & ran my pump (it's the one that came with the pool so not sure of size, but uses paper filters) over night & all day today. This morning there was still some green, went a vacuumed with brush. Green is completely gone, but water is so cloudy I can't see the bottom at all.
I only have the test strips cuz I can not afford to get the good one right now. According to test strip (which I know is not accurate) total hardness is about 250, total chlorine is a 1, free chlorine 3, bromine is 6, ph is 6.8, alkalinity is 40, & stabilizer is 0.
Can I just use regular chlorine bleach for right now to rid the cloudiness until I can get the good test kit?
Should I try turning my pump off for awhile to see if it all goes to the bottom of the pool before or after the bleach?
5000 gallon pool how much bleach? It's been almost in the 3 digits here in Panama City, florida so pool is not really all that cold but my daughter wants to get in it anyway even though water is warm it's still wet.
Lol! Thank you for what little bit of advice I can get without correct readings.
