How do I find the flow rates all I found on the filter says 62gpm do I just x's 62 by 60 that would be 3720gph seems high or is it the 20gpm/ft which would be 1200. I found a plate on the pump it's a a.o. Smith 1 hp 1 speed says sf 1.40 also
The flow rate does not really matter.
Filters list a maximum flow rate usually. But as Dave said, it is the pump and the total resistance to the flow (which includes the filter and all plumbing) that determines the actual flow rate.
If I had to guess, I would say you are trying to figure out a turn over rate or something, which is meaningless really.
I was trying to add more to my signature just didn't want to post wrong info on it since the paperwork I have looks like it was to the orig pump and filter
Ok to make sure I'm getting this sig stuff right I've updated it and on the gallons what's the math for that I haven't measure it again this year that's what the pool store told me last year on my measurements
