Low pH during SLAM. Do I try to fix or just ride it out?

I have been in SLAM mode for 14 days. pH was super high (8+) before beginning SLAM. Used Pool Math to calculate muratic acid to bring it within range, but it apparently dropped the bottom out! At this point I have a (white) cloudy pool that seems to be making barely perceptible progress. Wonder if I should try to raise the pH or just keep on keeping on with what I am doing? Any advice would be appreciated. I have fought my way from here to clear before, but would really like to do it the most efficient way!

Leave it alone while SLAM'ing and adjust it when completed if need be.
