Has anyone ever used an irrigation "slip fix" on pool piping? I used one a few years ago as an experiment (and to make my life easier) and was wondering about if it's considered okay and other people's experiences.
I put one on the return side of a 2HP spa jet pump (2" pipe) in a difficult to work with location about three years ago. I was worried that the rubber seal might not hold up on a line with 104F water and flow rates around 150 GPM, but it was much easier than the alternative. It has gone through two or three seasons of operation (and the same number of winters) and we are now a few weeks into the new season. So far, no leaks, and this is probably one of the harshest locations I could use it except for main circulation pumps (24 hours a day at 30-50 GPM) or right after a heater.
