The pool has fully recovered from the 8.5 inch rain. Thanks to finding TFP before the refill the water never turned green just went from brown back to Sparkling Blue.
I have not used any Tabs or powered shock since refill 6 weeks ago. I did not have to SLAM after the flood I just kept ph 7.5 and CL 4-6.
I brushed, vaced, & backwashed every day and ran the pool 24hr for 6 days.
I am very happy with the water now, no chlorine smell at all.
This morning's test.

Salt is below the chart about 300.
CYA 22-- It was 27 before the rain then 40,33, 28, 25, 22. I think the dirty water was giving false readings.
I already ran out of R0013 and need to order some more.
So CH and CYA went down due to draining 8.5 inches out.
PH TA has improved and PH rise has slowed down.
The wife loves the Ocean so I thought about adding salt to 1000.
Pool Math says add 97 pounds, wow that seems like a lot?
Does salt help prevent algae? Will it rust out my heater?
Would salt be a mistake if I decided to add borates later?
