??? on Hayward Heat Pump and sand filter.

Hello, maybe someone can direct me correctly.

I have a Hayward hp21104t heat pump showing P5 error code.

Phone tech advised to run sand filter on recirculate and that took error code away. Filter shows 22psi after backwashing.

Units and pool operated no more than 2 months total. (new pool) install

here are my questions;

what is an ideal psi for filter?

should I change sand in filter? What type and size?

Does heat pump operate on all four speeds of pump?

Thanks, Al

Depending on the pump size, plumbing runs, turns, filter size all these are factors. What is the pressure in filter mode and bypass mode? It's rare that you'll need to change the sand, maybe a cleaning.

It's best to operate the heat pump when on highest speed (heat transfer is better), no sure on the specifics, but others will chime in.
