I am in the SLAM process for day three! I am definitely making progress, but I had a lot of debris on the bottom of our pool. Although I raked what I could out, I have been vacuuming blindly due to the cloudiness!
I am only able to vacuum for less than 5 minutes before the output of water almost stops. I empty the trap basket, but that does not really work. The pressure on the pressure valve only goes up about 4points (new gauge installed a few days ago).
The only thing that helps is backwashing (although that too is short lived)
During one vacuuming I am backwashing 6 times! I thought it was good to let the particles get in there and "rough" up the sand, and backwashing prevents that.
Do I just have too much "junk" getting broken down during the slamming process causing the need to backwash this often?
