Im sure this topic has been "covered" (ha ha) but I could not find anything.

If water is 40, daytime temps are 60-70.

What would facilitate warmth more.

1. clear solar cover
2. mesh safety cover
3. uncovered for midday, solar at night

Option #3. Solar covers work more like a lid on a pot, to keep heat in and slow down the rate of heat dissipation. They work really well when you use a heater to warm the water.

If anything the mesh cover will work more as a shade on the pool and keep the water a little cooler.

Likely option 3 is the best ... however, if you had a lot of wind or very low humidity, then keeping a clear cover on even during the day may be best as it lowers the loss to evaporation.
