I live in Long Island, NY. Should I take it down or not during winter. If so, what should I do? Water treatment? Covers?

There are many who leave their Intex pools up over winter, some even in very cold climates.
If you decide to leave it up, Pool School has a section on how to do this: pool-school/winterizing%20and%20closing%20your%20above%20group%20pool
To cover or not will be up to you. If uncovered, be prepared to need a day to remove leaves etc before rebalancing your water when you open next spring. If covered, find a way to elevate the center of the cover to help it shed rain/snow.
