Not sure if this is the correct place for this but here we go.
I am about to undertake a refurb of our pool and before I resurface, I would like to add both a light and a second suction point for an automatic cleaner at least. It currently has the skimmer, a floor suction point via the skimmer, and two return jets. That's it. I will be moving the pump/filter to the back of the summerhouse (when it's built) when I fit the heating and SWG so a re-plumb will be on the cards. I will expose the exisiting points at the back of the concrete, then cut off and join the new pipe.
I assume I can drill/jackhammer a new point in and then epoxy/grout the pipe in position, make watertight then resurface?
I am also going to add a light or two(there are none at the moment), the LED surface mount ones look good but the cabling is an issue. I figure I can chip out a channel for a conduit and do the same with epoxy/grout, but how does it need to go? I'm assuming it just goes above the waterline, so just under the paving, but there will not be a niche so will future light changes be difficult?
Does anyone have any recommendations as to anything else to add in? I'll leave a plugged branch off both the input and output lines incase I want to add a waterfall or whatever. Any other suggestions?
I'll post pics as I go, should be a dramatic transformation from 80's to modern if all goes to plan. I am a carpenter by trade, formwork specialist and general do-it-yourself handyman on most fronts so I'll do what I am capable of doing by myself, and employ trades as required.
