Balancing Water Before SWG Install Help

Yes it can, but that is the test that is hard to find a supplier. Most people in the US buy it from on-line retailers as most pool stores do not carry it. The K-2005 is a good test but is missing the FAS-DPD for accurately testing chlorine to 50 ppm.

Since you are not trying to clear up a green pool you are not in real need of the test at the moment. Search amazon and see if there is a retailer that will accept your credit card, if not, get your Florida contact to get you the test.

Thanks!
I should be going to FL next month so I'll make sure I get it.

Ok, just tested Pool Water:

Free Chlorine= 1.5ppm
Total Chlorine= 1.5ppm
Combined Chlorine= 0
Total Bromine= 3ppm
pH= 7.2ppm
Acid & Base Demand not done as pH is low
Total Alkalinity= 40ppm Calcium Carbonate
Calcium Hardness= 150ppm Calcium Carbonate
Cyanuric Acid Test= 80ppm CYA

Please feed back

Thanks!

Well, certainly do not use any more stabilized chlorine (trichlor or dichlor) or you CYA is going to get too high. Using cal-hypo would bo OK since your CH is pretty low.

Since you do not have a SWG running yet, then you need to be maintaining the FC above 6ppm at all times.
